Dr. Marilen Gerber has been practicing clinical psychology for over thirty five years. She delivers services to adults, adolescents, children and families and has done so in a variety of settings: hospital clinics, schools, community colleges university clinics and in private practice. Her style is client centered using an integrated approach to treatment which includes cognitive behavioural strategies, interpersonal therapy, mindfulness and systemic solutions to assist clients in making meaningful changes. Dr. Gerber uses evidence based practices built on sound clinical research. She regularly participates in professional development opportunities to enhance and upgrade her clinical qualifications.
Special areas of interest for assessment include (but are not limited to) Psychoeducational Assessments for Learning Disabilities and ADHD and Psychodiagnostic Evaluations to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
Areas of interest and experience for treatment include: Depression, Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, stress, work place issues, womens' issues, parenting, child behaviour issues, life transition issues, trauma /grief and relationship issues.

Dr. Gerber is Registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (1987) as well as with Corporation des psychologues du Quebec. She has been a member of The Canadian Psychological Association throughout her career. She is also a Member of The Ottawa Academy of Psychology locally and a Member of The Canadian Register of Health Care Providers in Psychology.
While Dr. Gerber has spent a large part of her career practicing in hospital settings, ie McGill University Health Centre (Montreal Childrens' Hospital) and the Royal Ottawa Health Care Group (Brockville Mental Health Centre , and private practice, she has spent considerable time in her career as a teacher, mentor , and supervisor in the training of graduate students in clinical psychology. (i.e.: as Adjunct Professor of Psychology at McGill University and more recently as Clinical Professor and Clinical Supervisor at Centre for Psychological Service and Research, School of Psychology, University of Ottawa.) She has written several articles in professional journals and has co-authored a book chapter.
